Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

CalculatorInsight ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website calculatorinsight.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, and the rights you have with respect to your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"). By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

CalculatorInsight is designed to be used without creating an account, and the vast majority of our financial calculators run entirely in your browser. When you enter numbers into a calculator — for example, a loan amount, an interest rate, or a crypto staking amount — that data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or stored by us.

To understand how visitors use the Site and to improve our content, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service. Plausible collects aggregated, anonymized information such as the pages you visit, the general geographic region you are visiting from (derived from your IP address, which is never stored), your device type and screen size, the referring website, and the approximate duration of your visit. This data cannot be used to identify you personally, is never cross-referenced with other data sources, and is not sold or shared with advertisers.

We may also collect information you voluntarily provide, such as when you send us an email or contact us through a form on the Site. This may include your name, email address, and the content of your message.

Like most websites, our hosting provider and content delivery network may automatically log standard technical information, including IP address, browser type, operating system, and timestamps of requests, for security and operational purposes. This information is retained only as long as necessary for those purposes and is not used to build a profile of individual users.

How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Understand how visitors find and use our calculators so we can improve their accuracy, usability, and coverage of new financial topics.
  • Identify and fix technical issues, broken pages, or slow-loading content.
  • Respond to inquiries, feedback, or support requests you send us directly.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Site, including detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

CalculatorInsight does not use cookies for analytics purposes. Our analytics provider, Plausible, is explicitly designed to operate without cookies and without any persistent identifiers stored on your device. This means we do not track you across sessions, do not build advertising profiles, and do not require a cookie consent banner for analytics purposes under most interpretations of GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, because no personal data is stored on your device.

We do not currently use third-party advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes in the future — for example, through the introduction of advertising or affiliate tracking — we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law, request your consent before activating any such technology.

Some third-party services embedded on the Site, such as fonts or content delivery networks, may set strictly necessary technical cookies or use local caching to ensure the Site functions correctly. These are not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including regulated brokers, financial data providers, and educational resources referenced in our articles and calculator methodologies. These links are provided for your convenience and informational purposes only.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party website. Once you leave calculatorinsight.com by clicking an external link, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing any personal information to it.

Data Retention

Because Plausible Analytics does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, individual visitor sessions cannot be tied to a specific person over time. Aggregated statistical data is retained in accordance with our analytics provider's standard retention schedule and is used solely for historical trend analysis of Site traffic.

If you contact us directly by email, we retain that correspondence for as long as necessary to address your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have certain rights under the GDPR regarding any personal data we may hold about you, including:

  • Right of access — the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to erasure — the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to data portability — the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — the right to object to our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restrict processing — the right to request that we limit how we use your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within the timeframes required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your personal data appropriately.

Your Rights Under CCPA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Right to know — the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, and the purposes for which it is used.
  • Right to delete — the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to opt out — the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
  • Right to non-discrimination — the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of your CCPA rights, including being denied service, charged different prices, or provided a different level of quality.

To submit a CCPA request, contact us at [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by California law.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our calculators and educational content are intended for a general adult audience interested in personal finance, investing, and trading topics. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

CalculatorInsight is accessible to visitors around the world. Any limited data we or our service providers process, including aggregated analytics data, may be processed or stored on servers located outside of your country of residence, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, to ensure that any cross-border processing complies with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
